ME2C® Environmental is an environmental technology company dedicated to innovative, highly effective, affordable solutions to ensure a more sustainable infrastructure. Our patented SEA® (Sorbent Enhancement Additive) systems are the result of over $60 Million in research and development and globally recognized as a “BACT” (Best Available Control Technology) for mercury emissions capture.

Our journey began in 2008 with the commercialization of the SEA® technologies across the U.S. coal-fired power sector. Our expertise in clean air is expanding to new environmental concerns, including potable water treatment and rare earth element (REE) extraction.

Our sorbent-based products deliver superior performance with minimal material usage for optimal results.

Mercury Emission Control

The SEA® technology has been recognized globally as a “BACT” (Best Available Capture Technology”) since the early 2000s after undergoing industry-wide testing and demonstrations in partnership with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) during early technology development.

ME2C® partners with customers to deliver tailored mercury capture solutions using our patented SEA® Technologies, blending science and engineering. Our systems and materials are specifically designed for each customer's coal-fired units and plant configuration. Approximately 40% of the coal-fired U.S. fleet currently use our highly effective technologies for mercury emissions capture.

As experts in the science of chemisorption, we provide solutions based on a thorough understanding of actual and probable interactions involved in mercury capture in coal-fired flue gas, resulting in the most effective mercury capture achievable. Combined with a thorough proprietary audit of the plant and its configuration and instrumentation, ME2C’s complete science and engineering approach for mercury–sorbent–flue gas interactions is well-understood, highly predictive, and critical.

Our cost-effective approach for mercury emission reduction exceeds U.S. EPA Mercury and Air Toxics Standards for all coal-burning power plants. Our products are effective across various fuel and system types, adaptable to any configuration, and offer operational, environmentally friendly benefits, including the recycling of coal ash for important industrial uses. Potable Water Treatment

In the rapidly expanding U.S. potable water market, our division, WE2C Environmental, launched in April 2024 to address potable water treatment, is well positioned at the forefront of advanced water purification research. With U.S. water utilities facing over $47 billion in compliance costs due to new PFAS/PFOS regulations, WE2C aims to revolutionize the treatment of 'forever chemicals,' PFOA and PFOS, with proprietary, innovative, and environmentally-friendly solutions to ensure the safety and purity of water for future generations.

REE Extraction

We are developing new sorbent technologies to improve the processing of rare earth elements (REEs) from sources like mining ,coal ash, and acid mine drainage, with an environmentally-friendly, highly effective approach. This new technology will address a critical U.S. supply chain gap, reducing reliance on overseas processing, currently predominantly based in China, addressing a national security challenge for key industries and national defense while minimizing the environmental impact of long-distance ore transport.
